farm billAg groups are encouraging farmers to call their state representative in support of the farm bill.

There’s only a few days left for Congress to pass a compressive, five-year farm bill. With the deadline of Sept. 30 looming, several agricultural organizations are telling farmers to put pressure on their representatives in Washington, DC.

Illinois farmer Garry Niemeyer is president of the National Corn Growers Association. He says the scheduled cuts to agricultural programs will likely increase if the new farm bill isn’t passed this year.

He is encouraging farmers to call you representatives and tell them to pass the farm bill. You can reach your representative by calling 202-224-3121.
