Can U.S. Farmers Export A Record Surplus of Grains?

September 2, 2016 01:52 PM

Can American famers export a record surplus of corn, soybeans and wheat?

The answer is mostly yes, especially for corn and soybeans, because the export market will move higher with the higher supply, according to Chief Strategist for Allendale, Rich Nelson. speaking on AgDay.

China will buy more soybeans, and Brazil will import more U.S. corn over the next few months to build up stocks, Nelson observed.

“Wheat is a big concern for us especially, with the most recent Egypt announcement with their new lack of fungus tolerance,” Nelson said.
