Capturing the Business of Millennial Moms

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), one of the largest milk co-operatives in the country, is hoping to capitalize on their uniqueness and increase revenue for their farmer members with new dairy brand called Live Real Farms.

DFA is owned by more than 14,000 dairy farmer members representing 9,000 farm families in the U.S. It was recently named the 5th top global foods company by RaboBank. Part of the co-op’s success has been commercial business which Monica Massey says benefits their members. “Our commercial business brings back extra value to farmer-members,” she told a room full of large dairy producers at the 2015 Elite Producers Business Conference.

Massey explained that with its new initiative Live Real Farms, which is the first product line developed by DFA, the dairy company hopes to use their unique story to market the new brand to millennials.

Currently in the market testing phase a new line of Live Real Farms Energy Drinks promise not only healthy ingredients that millennials are looking for, but also trendy packaging developed in partnership with Tetra Pac.

According to Massey Live Real Farms Energy Drinks “layer in millennial must-haves” which she says include transparency, sustainability, real ingredients and a social compassion.

While only 30% dairy, Live Real Farms Energy Drinks pack 12 grams of dairy protein, real fruit juice and 100% percent of the daily recommended amounts of vitamin b12 in an 11 oz. bottle.

The product is currently still in the test phase, but beginning January 2016 you may find the drinks in the refrigerated juice section of your grocery store.
