Censky McKinney confirmation hearing

Two key USDA appointees were approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee Monday evening.  Former American Soybean Association CEO Steve Censky, nominated to be Deputy USDA Secretary and former Indiana Director of Agriculture Ted McKinney, tapped to be USDA's first Under Secretary for Trade, were both approved by the committee. Their nominations must now be considered by the full Senate. A confirmation vote is expected later this week.

A joint statement from Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) indicated broad, bipartisan support for both nominees in the full Senate.
