Claas Ratchets Up Its Harvesting and Tractor Models

The lineup of Claas Cougar forage harvesters has been extended with the introduction of roller conditioners on the Cougar 1400RC model. Equipping the Cougar with roller conditioners allows operators to choose the best fit harvester for their crop and mowing conditions. The Cougar 1400RC is designed to improve drying time, mow more acres and increase consistency and feed quality. The overall working swath width for this machine is 45'. It is equipped with a front-mounted mower conditioner, which lays a wide, loose and fluffy swath. Each of the five Disco mowers on the 1400RC has chevron roller conditioners and the Claas Quick-Knife system, which provides easy knife changing and less maintenance time.

The Claas Xerion 3800 has numerous features but the most attention-grabbing is its ability to rotate the cab 180° in less than 30 seconds.

At 382 hp, the Xerion 3800 is a higher horsepower version of the Xerion 3300, the company's first tractor in the series. That tractor introduced a new concept—a variable cab position by relocating the cab to another position on the tractor body.

The series is available with three cab position options: Trac, fixed in central position; Trac VC, cab rotates 180°; and Saddle Trac, fixed over position of the engine.

Powered by a Caterpillar six-cylinder engine, this tractor can be used for tillage, planting, mowing, spraying, high-capacity manure work, silage pit work and grain or silage hauling. The Xerion 3800 features a continuously variable ZF transmission, permanent four-wheel drive, 100% front and rear differential lock and a 100% central differential lock. The Xerion provides ease in maneuverability with its intelligent four-wheel steering and a 20' turning radius. With the touch of a button on the control unit, the Xerion can be driven in six steering modes to best suit the application at hand and provide efficient fuel use.

Cougar forage harvesters are now available with roller conditioners as the model lineup is extended with the Cougar 1400RC.
The 382-hp Xerion 3800 is the second tractor from Claas that features a variable position cab.
