Clearing Up Myths on Tax Deductions on Sales to Co-Ops

The Trump administration is coming off a win with its tax overhaul, and it’s expected to be a topic during President Trump’s address to the American Farm Bureau Federation Convention on Monday.

Part of the new legislation directly impacting farmer concerns is the elimination of the Estate Tax and a Section 199 Cap A deduction, which deals with farmer sales co-ops.

Farm CPA Paul Neiffer says there are stipulations, and this line item is generating misinformation within agriculture.
