CME Group Announces New Daily Price Limits

New daily trading limits for grain and oilseed futures traded in Chicago will take effect May 1 after approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, according the CME Group. On May 1, the initial daily price limits will be as follows:

Soybeans

$0.70/bu.
HRW wheat
$0.60/bu.
$0.50/bu.
$0.75/bu.
Soybean oil
$0.025/lb.
$0.03/lb.
$0.045/lb.
Soybean meal
$20/ton
$30/ton
$45/ton
Oats
$0.20/bu.
$0.25/bu.
$0.40/bu.
Rough rice
$0.50/cwt.
$1.10/cwt.
$1.65/cwt.

 

The daily price limits will be reset twice per year -- on the first trading day of May and the first trading day in November -- based on underlying price levels. There will be no daily price limits for grain and oilseed options.
