Community Gatherings Scheduled for South Dakota Livestock Producers

Three community meetings will provide information about resources available to rebuild ranch operations in the wake of the blizzard.

Rapid City, S.D. - Ranch families are invited to attend any of three community gatherings in Union Center, Faith and New Underwood for a free meal and information about resources available as they look to rebuild their ranch operations in the wake of the blizzard.

Resources and information will be provided by the South Dakota Animal Industry Board, the South Dakota Department of Agriculture, South Dakota State University Extension, other federal and state agencies, bank and loan officers, insurance agents, agricultural industry organizations, and mental health professionals.

Gatherings will be held:

New Underwood Community Gathering
Monday, October 28, 6 - 9 p.m.
New Underwood Community Center - New Underwood, S.D.

Union Center Community Gathering

Friday, October 25, 6 - 9 p.m.
Union Center Community Center - Union Center, S.D.

Faith Community Gathering
Saturday, October 26, 6 - 9 p.m.
Faith Legion Hall - Faith, S.D.

These gatherings are a joint effort by South Dakota Cattlemen's Association, South Dakota Farm Bureau, South Dakota Farmers Union, and South Dakota Stockgrowers Association with the support of other industry groups and local businesses.
