Losing a bulk tank full of milk for any reason makes for a bad day at the farm. But losing a couple thousand pounds of milk due to alleged vandals, on Christmas Eve, makes for a not so merry Christmas.

That’s what happened in Torrington, Conn., where the Weigold family lost around 2,500 pounds of milk due to someone opening their tank. Sherman Weigold rose at 4:30 a.m. on December 24 to find the empty tank. His son, Karl, told the Republican-American that someone must have come between 10 p.m. and midnight on December 23rd, losing the farm about $500 in milk.

But a GoFundMe page was quickly started for the family, and by December 28, 2015, over $3,300 was raised to compensate the family.
