Consultant Lowers U.S. Corn, Soybean Crop Estimates

August 28, 2012 10:00 AM

Crop consultant Dr. Michael Cordonnier has lowered his corn yield estimate by 2 bu. per acre to 121 bu., saying poor grain quality could be a factor this year. He trimmed his soybean yield estimate by 0.5 bu. per acre to 35.5 bu., sahing late-season rains should help the later-maturing soybeans to maintain yield potential and limit further declines.
