Consultant Lowers Corn, Soybean Crop Estimates

August 14, 2012 10:00 AM

Crop consultant Dr. Michael Cordonnier has lowered his corn yield projection by 2 bu. per acre from last week to 1253bu. per acre for a crop of 10.21 billion bushels. He lowered his soybean yield projection by 2 bu. per acre to 36 bu. per acre for a crop of 2.63 billion bushels.

Dr. Cordonnier says he maintains a downward bias on both crops, but says he's not as negative on soybean crop potential as corn as there's still time for rain to aid with pod-fill.
