Consultant Raises Corn Yield, Leaves Soybeans Unchanged

August 6, 2013 10:00 AM

Crop consultant Dr. Michael Cordonnier has raised his corn yield projection by 1 bu. per acre from last week to 154 bu. per acre to reflect a neutral to slightly high bias he has for the crop. But Dr. Cordonnier warns that since the crop continues to develop at a lower-than-normal pace, there remains a risk the crop won't finish fully before the first frost. Meanwhile, he left his soybean yield estimate unchanged at 42 bu. per acre, but also notes the risk of delayed development on yield in case of an early frost.
