Continue to Expect Bearish Activity Toward Friday's Acreage Report

June 26, 2017 03:52 PM

The big USDA Acreage report comes out June 30, and some analysts are expecting bearish news.

Matt Bennett, owner of Bennett Consulting, is expecting the most important part of the report will be acreage. He says the lean for most people will be less corn acres and more soybean acres.

“The more bearish part of the report for me is probably going to be the stocks part of the report, [which] is what people are expecting to be bearish,” Bennett told AgDay host Clinton Griffiths.

Even though there have been fundamental concerns about yields, Elaine Kub, author of Mastering the Grain Markets, says the speculative side of the market has been bearish.

“All through this week going toward this stocks report and the acreage report, we could continue to see that kind of bearish activity,” said Kub.
