Corn & Soybean Export Inspections Meet Expectations

Following are highlights of the Weekly Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended Aug. 2, 2012:

Comments:

Inspections were 1.636 million bu. below last week's tally but met expecations. Inspections are running 14.3% behind year-ago, compared to 13.6% behind last week. USDA's 2011-12 export forecast is at 12.8% below the previous marketing year at 1.600 billion bushels.

Wheat

Comments:

Inspections were 1.841 million bu. above last week's tally and just above expectations. Inspections are running 20.8% below year-ago, compared to 20.7% behind last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2012-13 marketing year is at 1.200 billion bu., up 14.5% from the previous marketing year.

Soybeans

Comments:

Export inspections were 2.888 million bu. below last week's tally and within expectations. Inspections for the new marketing year are running 10.9% below year-ago, compared to 11.5% below last week. USDA's 2011-12 export forecast is at 1.340 billion bu., down 10.7% from year-ago.
