Corn Inspections Within Expectations

Following are highlights of the Weekly Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended Jan. 5:

Comments:

Inspections were within expectations and about 18.8 million bu. above last week's tally. Inspections are running 3.2% behind year-ago, compared to 5.6% behind last week. USDA's 2011-12 export forecast is at 12.8% below the previous marketing year at 1.6 billion bushels.

Wheat

Comments:

Inspections were below expectations and about 3.4 million bu. below last week's tally. Inspections are running 11.0% below year-ago, compared to 9.2% below last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2011-12 marketing year is 925 million bu., down 28.2% from the previous marketing year.

Soybeans

Comments:

Inspections were were below expectations, but about 4.5 million bu. below last week's tally. Inspections for the new marketing year are running 28.9% below year-ago, compared to 29.8% below last week. USDA's 2011-12 export forecast is at 1.30 billion bu., down 13.4% from year-ago.
