Corn, Soybean & Wheat Export Inspections Surpass Expectations

Note: From today's report forward, USDA will release export inspections data in metric tons (MT) rather than million bushels.

The following are highlights of the Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended Feb. 6, 2014.

Comments:

Inspections were up 132,449 million bu. from last week and above pre-report expectations. Inspections are running 84.3% ahead of year-ago compared to 84.1% ahead the week prior. USDA's 2013-14 export forecast of 1.450 billion bu. is 98.4% above the previous marketing year.

Wheat

272,154 - 408,230

Comments:

Inspections were up 117,563 MT from the week prior and the tally topped expectations. Inspections for 2013-14 are running 32.8% ahead of year-ago, compared to 35.1% ahead last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2013-14 marketing year is at 1.125 billion bu., up 11.7% from the previous marketing year.

Soybeans

Expectations (MT)

1,143,044 - 1,306,336

Comments:

Export inspections rose 360,439 MT from last week and the tally topped expectations. Inspections for the 2013-14 marketing year are running 17.2% ahead of year-ago compared to 15.3% ahead the week prior. USDA's 2013-14 export forecast is at 1.495 billion bu., up 13.3% from year-ago.
