Could Trump Be Your New Neighbor?

February 2, 2016 11:15 AM

Iowa farmers, look out: You might just end up with a new outspoken neighbor with “the classiest” barn in the state.

After finishing second to Ted Cruz during the Iowa caucuses, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump remains confident he’ll win the nomination and the White House.

“We’ll go on to easily beat Hillary (Clinton) or Bernie (Sanders) or whoever the hell they throw up there,” Trump said of the general election.

During his post-caucus speech, Trump mentioned how much he has enjoyed his time in Iowa. The real-estate tycoon said he likes the Hawkeye State so much that he might make an investment in some agricultural property.

“We will be back many, many times,” Trump said. “In fact, I think I might come here and buy a farm.”

Trump has made colorful ag-related comments before. Earlier in the campaign season, he blamed Ben Carson’s rise in support on Monsanto and then said it was a “young intern” on his Twitter handle. No word if the intern was told “You’re fired!”

Speaking of Twitter, we hope Trump gets a few laughs from @AgTrump, a parody social media handle.

@AgTrump was a big fan of this past year’s Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour and apparently has already made some major ag investments--like buying the famous Corn Palace.

What are your thoughts on Donald Trump getting into farming? Do you think he could raise a bumper crop? Let us know in the comments.

He will change his mind when he looks at the current corn and bean price !!!! Unless he desires to become just a millionaire instead of a billionaire, just start farming it will happen.

I am favoring Trump over Cruse with rfs. But I hope he knows the corn palace is in South Dakota not Iowa.
