Crop Tour Day 4: Eastern Leg Reporting SDS in Iowa

August 25, 2016 10:36 AM

Day four of the eastern leg of the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour kicked off today in Iowa. Scouts hit the fields bright and early to collect more samples before the big finale.

Of course they’re having a little fun along the way. What would Crop Tour be without some shenanigans?

Now back to business.

Scouts on the eastern leg are reporting SDS in Iowa while beans in the western part of the state looked solid. Tonight's tally will tell how much of an impact the disease is having on Iowa's bean crop.

East Iowa's corn report so far.

It’s been a soggy tour for many of the scouts or a “wet drought” depending on who you ask.

Wondering how Crop Tour samples are taken? This video will explain it in less than two minutes.

You can join the tour from home and win big! Just share your own crop photos with the hashtag #pftour16 to be entered to win the Midwest Crop Tour Sweepstakes. Click here to find out more.
