Crop Tour Day 4: Scouts Hopeful for Promising Eastern Iowa

August 24, 2017 08:08 AM

On the fourth and final day of Crop Tour, Brian Grete, editor of Pro Farmer, is headed north to Rochester, Minn.

“We will get into some of that Iowa 9, 8 and then up toward Rochester,” he told U.S. Farm Report host Tyne Morgan. “We’ll be going through some of the better areas in Iowa today. We should see better stuff.”

He says if the crops on that leg aren’t better, “we got real problems.”

While there are garden spots in eastern Iowa, Grete says there still could be sporadic holes in those areas.

“We should hit more good spots than bad spots today,” he said.
