Market analyst Peter Meyer is an old hand at taking samples from corn and bean fields on the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour. He says this year's Tour—his sixth—is one where scouts should leave any preconceived notions in the truck.
"It's one of those things where it looked good on the outside it was bad on the inside, and when it looked bad on the outside it was good on the inside," Meyer says of scouting Ohio fields on the Eastern leg of the Tour.
"The key is for us to get away from the outside and to get to the heart of the matter, which is inside the field," Meyer says.
Hear what he has to say about the first day of the Eastern Tour.
