The nation’s major row crops continue to work toward the finish line.

The latest crop progress report shows 18 percent of the nation’s corn crop is now mature, which is slightly behind the 5-year average of 20 percent.

On the soybean side, 12 percent of acres are dropping leaves, right on pace with the 5-year average.

If conditions continue to hold, 73 percent of the crop will be good to excellent, according to the USDA.
