It only happens every other year. In 2009, two of the world's largest international farm shows will take place.

Held in Paris, SIMA will take place Feb. 22 to 26. There will be more than 1,300 exhibitors at this event, which is also known as the Internal Agri-Business Show. The most recent SIMA show welcomed visitors from 107 countries. SIMA is known for expansive displays of agricultural machinery and technology. For the first time in 2009, the show will host an Agriculture and Energy area devoted to renewable energies.

Hosted by the DLG (or German Agricultural Society), Agritechnica will take place Nov. 10 to 14 in Hanover, Germany. More than 75 acres of show space will accommodate 2,200 exhibitors displaying their latest in agricultural innovations. The 2007 event attracted 340,000 visitors from 36 countries.
