Data Tools to Aid Input Decisions

In-season management is critical to help maximize yield on every acre, and benchmarking a product or practice is necessary when making input decisions for the following year. During the season it can be difficult to find enough time to manage and track the variances of every field, let alone every acre.

Fortunately, there’s technology to help you do just that—manage each acre’s seed, nutrient and moisture needs as well as track weather conditions and disease and pest pressures from the screen of your phone, tablet or computer. With countless options promising to provide insight, it’s difficult to decide which one, if any, is the best fit.

Tight margins make it even more important to make smart input decisions. The featured platforms collect and analyze data in order to offer agronomic recommendations. While it’s not an all-inclusive list and new tools are introduced frequently, it provides an overall idea of the capabilities of such technology platforms.

Even if it’s just on a few acres, consider testing a few of the featured data tools to see how they aid input decisions. It’s important to note, these tools should be used as part of a comprehensive management system that includes number crunching and boots on the ground.
