Debunking Myths About Heart-Healthy Proteins

February is Heart Month according to the American Heart Association. The association says heart disease is the number one leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S. More than 2,300 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day.

As more people focus on a heart-healthy diet, there is growing uncertainty about animal proteins and cardiovascular health. Beef is often in question.

AgDay national reporter Betsy Jibben debunks some myths about animal protein in your diet with Katy Wright, a mom and producer located in Cottonwood, Arizona; and Shalene McNeill, executive director of human nutrition research with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA).
