Deere & Company Announces 800 Employees Take Voluntary Separation

June 30, 2009 10:58 AM

Deere & Company said that approximately 800 salaried employees will leave the company as a result of a voluntary separation program announced in April. The company says this will provide a first-year savings of approximately $75 million.

In April, Deere announced a change to two former divisions. The units were agricultural and commercial and consumer equipment, and they are now a single unit named the Worldwide Agriculture and Turf Division. This was effective May 1, 2009.

The voluntary separation program was designed to help Deere realize the efficiencies of the merged divisions.
