USDA will release its Prospective Plantings and Grain Stocks reports on March 30. These reports, released annually in March, always promise to move the markets. Pro Farmer editor Chip Flory explains why.

Some analysts say acreage will be affected by the reports. Others are focusing on corn yields and prices. While corn growers are certainly hoping for higher prices, the beef and dairy industries are hoping to catch a break in the form of lower feed costs.

Still others are cautioning farmers on how to manage profitability or prepare for market swings ahead of the reports.
