Irrigation panels have joined the circle of precision agriculture technologies.
Valley Irrigation is the latest to introduce pivot control panels that can be used with GPS technologies. Farmers can program varying rates across fields to prescribe the levels of inputs. Applying this technology can reduce over-application and provide for better crop management and optimization of inputs.
The GPS-ready panels–PRO2 Pivot Control Panel, AutoPilot Linear Control Panel and Select2 Pivot Control Panel–eliminate the need for an external computer because the GPS position calculations are performed inside the panels. These three control panels are also compatible with different types of GPS receivers. Valley brand center pivots irrigate more than 17 million acres around the world.
