Texas has received some precipitation, and the dryness has improved, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor.
However, west Texas and the Panhandle are still drought stricken and the hot and dry conditions are not going away soon.
60 percent of the Lone Star State is covered in drought, which is a six-point improvement from the week prior.
Parts of Illinois are registering on the monitor, but the situation isn’t bad yet.
