Grassroots tour part of Farm Journal Foundation’s Farmers Feeding the World initiative

Farmers Feeding the World is pleased to announce that DuPont Crop Protection will again sponsor the HungerU Tour. After a successful pilot last fall, the collegiate tour will visit eight West Coast schools this spring, enlisting students to join farmers in addressing the world’s food crisis.

By building awareness of global food security issues and the critical role modern agriculture plays in putting food on our tables, HungerU engages students in the ongoing hunger crisis and empowers them to take action in their communities. The eight selected schools will be announced on April 2.

Student groups from the schools participating in HungerU will have the opportunity to win $2,500 for their respective organizations by engaging their communities and elevating the conversation about hunger and advanced agriculture.

"The students’ enthusiasm has shown us that a college campus is a hungry market for information on solutions to end world hunger," said Andy Weber, CEO of Farm Journal Media and Chairman of the Farm Journal Foundation. "With the incredible success we saw last fall, we’re hitting the road a second time, bringing the Tour to the West Coast this spring."

DuPont Crop Protection is again generously supporting the HungerU Tour, a special project of the Foundation’s Farmers Feeding the World effort. "HungerU aligns with our goal to feed the world by engaging and educating youth about food security and modern agriculture. After the success of last year’s Tour, we are excited to collaborate with HungerU again this spring," said John Chrosniak, DuPont Crop Protection Director of North America.
