Here is a sampling of some of the social media posts from farmers, ranchers and agriculture organizations across the country during Earth Day.

April 22nd is Earth Day. A time when people are reminded to recycle, plant trees, reduce our carbon footprint, and all in all to respect nature.

In agriculture being good stewards of the land and environment are a must for the continued success of farms and ranches around the globe.

That’s why memes on social media like “Earth Day is every day” have been trending today and there has even been a popular hashtag – #EarthDayEveryDay – to help remind consumers what producers do for the planet.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Harbes Farms is committed to protecting agricultural land and preserving our family legacy and heritage as farmers. Each year we continue to make strides towards greater stewardship of our precious resources. We use locally sourced compost to enrich and protect the soil quality which minimizes the need for fertilizer, perform crop-rotation and cover cropping which is a method of replenishing the soil's nutrients, utilize reduced tillage farming practices that preserve soil quality and reduces the need for crop inputs, and work closely with Cornell University’s integrated pest management system to grow fresh and healthy produce with a minimum of inputs. 🌽🍅🍉🍑🍎 We've also preserved open space. Harbes Farms has put over 50 acres into conservation easement which ensures that this land will remain undeveloped. 🌳🌱🌲 Do something nice for the Earth today! 😀 #northfork #earthday #earthday2019 #earth #sustainable #farmlife #johndeere #harbesfarm
