The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sent is proposed final volume requirements of biofuel blends for 2018 and 2018 to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This move makes it likely that volume numbers will be released by the statutory Nov. 30 deadline.
After receiving the numbers Tuesday, OMB will review them. This comes after EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt abandoned his plans to lower the renewable fuel standard (RFS) levels.
Pruitt was met with resistance from Midwest lawmakers like Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
No details from the final rule have been released.
