Ethanol Stocks Build as Efforts to Slash RFS Resumes

There are renewed efforts in Congress to slash the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).

In early February, Rep Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) started circulating a letter to colleagues, asking for support and co-sponsors for the Renewable Standard Elimination Act. He’s expected to introduce the bill soon, but the efforts are nothing new.

He introduced similar legislation today the last Congress, calling the legislation “deeply flawed”, leading to higher costs at the grocery store.

Strong ethanol production is helping boost corn prices and stocks keep growing.
