As you combine corn this fall, take a few minutes in the field to evaluate how much grain your combine leaves behind. Missy Bauer says farmers should aim to lose no more than 1 bu. per acre, as a general rule-of-thumb.
“If you have losses greater than that, then it’s time to adjust your combine settings,” says Bauer, Farm Journal associate field agronomist.
