Farm Journal Pulse

Irrigation systems appear to be pretty regional, based on the results of this week’s Farm Journal Pulse.

The text message survey of farmers and ranchers, asked: Approximately what percentage of your acreage is irrigated?

Here are the results:

  • None: 71%
  • 1-25% of acres: 9%
  • 26-50% of acres: 5%
  • 51-75% of aces: 3%
  • 76-99% of acres: 7%
  • 100% of acres: 5%

Slightly more than 70% don’t use irrigation, where as 9% have around 25% of their acres irrigated.
