Farmers Feeding the World Focus of Special Episode

March 23, 2011 01:20 AM

"AgDay" and "U.S. Farm Report" will pay tribute to farmers who are helping to fight global hunger with special episodes this week. Hosted by Clinton Griffiths and Andrew McCrea, the special editions will focus entirely on Farmers Feeding the World, a nonprofit organization and the first initiative by the Farm Journal Foundation.

Viewers will get the latest information about this project and a detailed look at the upcoming launch of the Farmers Feeding the World hitting the road with the mobile exhibit this spring to teach consumers about modern agriculture and bring awareness to the global fight with hunger.

During the show, viewers will meet Dr. Gebisa Ejeta, a plant researcher at Purdue who grew up in Ethiopia and now works to find new ways to fight global hunger. Dr. Ejeta’s work to end global hunger earned him the World Food Prize in 2009.

Are you curious how farmers are stepping up to the plate to fight this battle? During the episode we will also head to the field to meet three outstanding producers who are using the latest technology to push yields to record levels.
The special episode of "AgDay" will air Friday, March 25. "U.S. Farm Report" will show the featured segment during the second half hour of the March 26-27 shows. You can also see the special editions on RFD TV Thursday, March 31 at 8:20 CST and Friday, April 1 and 10:30 a.m. CST.
