Farmers Seek to Connect with Consumers on National Television

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance is partnering with Discovery Communications to create videos to continue to help Americans learn more about how food is grown and raised.
The videos feature real farmers and ranchers answering consumers' questions about the agricultural community’s commitment to continuous improvement and the role farmers and ranchers play in providing healthy choices for people everywhere.

Featured farmers:

Shana Beattie, a livestock and grain farmer. Her husband, Bart, and his parents operate the Beattie Farm in Sumner, Neb., where they raise corn, soybeans, alfalfa, certified grass seed, beef and pork. The Beattie Farm raises roughly 8 million pounds of pork annually.
Ken Oneto, a crop and produce farmer. On his farm in Elk Grove, Calif., Oneto grows artichokes, cherries, dry beans, tomatoes and grapes.
Dino Giacomazzi, a fourth-generation farmer. Giacomazzi operates Giacomazzi Dairy in Hanford, Calif., where he manages 950 milking cows and 900 acres of cropland.
Scott Long owns and operates The Long Ranch, Inc., in Manteca, Calif., where he raises pork. A multigenerational family farm, The Long Ranch, Inc., has been a family-run business for more than three decades.
Fourth-generation farmer Jill Benson is an egg producer in San Joaquin Valley, Calif.
Farmer and rancher Jeff Fowle, his wife, Erin, and son Kyle, raise registered Angus cattle, Percheron draft horses, warmblood horses, alfalfa and alfalfa-grass hay in Etna, Calif. They also start and train horses for riding, jumping and driving.
