Fertilizer Giant Sees China Paying More for Potash; Analysts Not So Certain

Mosaic sees China paying up for North American potash supplies, but industry analysts are not so certain, according to a report from the financial news service Bloomberg. The report quotes Mosaic Chief Executive Officer Jim Prokopanko as seeing China paying more for potash due to the surge in corn and soybean prices. "The more grain is worth, the more fertilizer is worth," he is quoted as saying. But market observers express doubt higher prices can be negotiated because potash inventories are high.
