Four New Tillage Tools

Designed to penetrate, chop and mix soil and crop residue in a single pass to create a uniform seedbed, John Deere’s expanded 2600 Series includes the 2625, 2623 and 2620 disks and 2623VT (vertical tillage). The frame can be built to perform as a one-pass primary tillage disk or seedbed finishing tool. The disks feature a 2"-diameter gang bolt, 30% increased weight per blade and sealed, maintenance-free bearings. C-spring standards and hydraulic fore-aft leveling provide consistent tillage results in all conditions.

The disks have transport widths from 13'6" to 16'3" and transport heights of 10' to 15'. Field operating speeds range from 5 to 7 mph. The 2623VT front gang has 22" concavity spherical blades on 7.25" spacings and is angled 21° to provide maximum residue chopping while maintaining sharp edges. The rear gang has 22" concavity wavy blades on a 19° angle. The 2623VT has a unique active hydraulic rolling basket for consistent ground contact.

It is available in five different widths from 26'5" to 40'8" and can be operated at 7 to 10 mph. Price: 2620, $39,870 to $105,772; 2623, $43,877 to $113,692; 2625, $52,193 to $94,355; 2623VT, $63,782 to $105,172.
