Farm Diesel -- nozzle

Farm diesel moved $0.008 higher during the report week to $3.431/gallon according to Inputs Monitor data. Just three of the twelve states in our index are unchanged.

Kansas and Missouri square off with the lowest priced farm diesel according to regional averages at $3.30/gallon. Nebraska had been holding its own against Kansas, but added a penny during the week to $3.31.

Ohio farm diesel spiked 13 cents to $3.49 during the week. All other moves were within 2 cents with the exception of North Dakota which sported a 4 cent decline to $3.56/gallon.

Farm diesel has been on a slide since March. We have expected farm diesel to move higher through the summer and this may be the week we witness the turnaround. Check your local pricing as there may still be time to book a portion of fall or sidedress needs, but do not let the seasonal pricing window close without having a closer look.

Gasoline-

The average retail price for regular gasoline climbed just $0.001 cents nationwide to $3.646/gallon -- $0.033 below year-ago.

East Coast gasoline softens $0.017 to $3.484; Midwest firms $0.057 to $3.838; Gulf Coast $0.026 lower to $3.340; Rocky Mountain adds $0.004 to $3.729, and the West Coast moves $0.044 lower to $3.889.

Midwest gasoline prices spiked last week while retail pricing in the rest of the nation remained stable. Gas prices in the Midwest are easing -- although up this week again -- but continued work on local refineries is elevating pricing.
