June 10, 2013 11:10 AM

Farm Diesel --nozzle

Farm diesel moved $0.004 higher during the report week to $3.435/gallon according to Inputs Monitor data with seven of the twelve states in our Index unchanged.

Nebraska softened 2 cents to retake the title of the least expensive farm diesel in our index at $3.29/gallon. Kansas and Missouri square off for second place at $3.31 and $3.30/gallon respectively. Behind that, Iowa falls fourth in line at $3.37. All others post a handle at $3.41 or above.

The largest gains were 2 cent increases in Indiana to $3.58 and Michigan to $3.53.

Farm diesel had been on a slide since March. We have expected farm diesel to move higher through the summer and last week marked the turnaround. Check your local pricing as there may still be time to book a portion of fall or sidedress needs, but do not let the seasonal pricing window close without having a closer look.
