Gasoline and Diesel Weekly: Gasoline & Farm Diesel Higher -- Both Priced Below Year-ago

Farm Diesel -- nozzle

Farm diesel moved 1/2 cent higher during the report week to $3.386/gallon according to Inputs Monitor data with five of the twelve states in our Index unchanged. The price at the same time last year was $3.51 -- 12 1/2 cents above today's price.

South Dakota enjoyed the only decline in farm diesel pricing dropping a nickel from the previous week. All other states were either unchanged or moved higher.

Illinois currently at $3.51, up one penny; Missouri also added one cent to end at $3.22 but boasts the regional low; Nebraska, Minnesota and Michigan all up 3 cents.

Gasoline-

The retail price for regular gasoline softened 7 cents during the report week to a national average of $3.561 -- 16 cents below year-ago.

East Coast gasoline softened 6 cents to $3.569; Midwest rose 11 cents to $3.478; Gulf coast 6 cents lower to $3.388; Rocky Mountain region firms 1/2 cent to $3.644 and West Coast gasoline 4 3/4 cents lower at $3.840.

Highway Diesel --

The national average price of highway diesel softened 1 1/4 cent to $3.896 -- 7 cents above year-ago.

East Coast highway diesel fell 1 cent this week to $3.908; Midwest softened 1 1/2 cents to $3.862; Gulf coast down 1 3/4 cents to $3.824; Rocky Mountain diesel fell 1/4 cent to $3.930 and West Coast highway diesel down 1 cent to $4.045.
