Gulke: Pressure Mounting on Soybeans

The grain markets didn’t react favorably to today’s USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) reports, with corn futures tumbling more than 5 cents and soybean futures shaving off more than 10 cents. Jerry Gulke, president of the Gulke Group, says soybeans in particular will feel the heat leading up to the highly anticipated Prospective Plantings report on March 31.

“This puts more pressure on the bean complex to go lower because it’s not a matter of if there are going to be more beans planted in the United States, it’s how much more,” he notes.
