A large portion of the country is dealing with high heat, and it's about to get even hotter! Temperatures are expected to soar close to 100° through the weekend.
USDA's cattle heat stress maps show a large chunk of the country is under an emergency declaration which extends all the way from Texas into the Plains and Midwest. On Saturday, the heat pushes into the East Coast.
For cattle not used to conditions like this, producers are having to take extra precautionary measures to ensure their safety.
