High Horsepower Tractor Sales Slump 40% in November

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, high horsepower tractor sales are down big in November 2015 when compared to November 2014.

AEM issued its November 2015 “Flash Report” and reported there were 914 100 HP 2WD farm tractor sales, as compared to 1,540 sales last November. That represents a drop of 40.6%. For 4WD farm tractors, 142 sales were recorded in November, compared to 253 sales last November, a 43.9% drop.

Self-propelled combine sales were also down significantly year over year, tallying 204 sales in November compared to 284 a year ago, a decline of 28.4%

Not all categories were down, however. Sales of tractors under 40 HP rose slightly, with 5,104 sold in November 2015 versus 5,019 in November 2014, a 1.7% increase. Year-to-date, this category of tractor sales is up 7.7% from 2014.
