How Dangerous Are Poinsettias?

December 22, 2017 09:08 AM

Poinsettias are a popular plant this time of year for decorating. Children and pets are often advised to stay away from the red and green foliage.

A pediatrician at Indiana University conducted some research, and her research should ease parents’ fears.

“I say this both as a pediatrician and someone who’s looked at all of the research, poinsettias are not really much of a risk,” said Dr. Rachel Vreeman.

The study looked at more than 23,000 cases.
