A corn avalanche is on the horizon according to executive vice president Roy Huckabay of Chicago-based Linn Group, saying, "There is a wall of grain coming at us."

While hot, mostly dry weather will persist in California and the Northwest, cooler air will briefly overspread the Plains and Midwest, according to USDA’s agricultural weather highlights.

Corn and soybean prices have been under considerable pressure. Prices have been plunging and the question remains, where will grain prices find support?

Barring an unexpected negative weather event, on-farm corn storage for you and your neighbors will fill up quickly this fall.

Cash rents for prime farmland held tough for 2014 despite lower corn prices, but that’s about to change.
