September 14, 2009 11:11 AM
Blake Martin, a 27-year-old row crop and dairy farmer from Kouts, Ind., has been awarded a free lease on a Versatile 375hp four-wheel drive tractor for his entry in the Versatile Simple and True Challenge.

The Simple and True Challenge, launched in June, invited farmers to explain in less than 200 words what it means for them, their family and their operation to have a tractor that is simple, reliable and easy to maintain .

Martin was presented as the winner today before a crowd at the Versatile exhibit area on the grounds of the National Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Ill.

Martin's entry was chosen from nearly 700 others because it was judged to be the most heartfelt, sincere and well-expressed.

Nine runner-up finalists have also been selected and will be notified in
the upcoming weeks. Each has won a Versatile prize package including an
all-weather jacket, a sturdy backpack and a woven cap.
