Informa Issues 2011 Crop Summary

Ahead of the January 12 USDA Annual Crop Production Summary, Informa Economics has reportedly updated its 2011-crop pegs. Details:

  • Informa reportedly estimates corn production at 12.34 billion bu. (yield of 147.0 bu. per acre), 27 million above USDA’s November forecast.
  • Informa reportedly pegs soybean production at 3.08 billion bu. (yield of 41.8 bu. per acre), which if realized, would be 33 million above USDA’s November forecast.
  • Informa reportedly pegs all cotton production at 15.4 million bales (yield of 751 lbs. per acre), down 427 thousand from USDA’s December forecast and 2.7 million lower than last year.
