Informa Lowers Corn and Soybean Crop Estimates

Sources say Informa Economics has lowered their U.S. corn and soybean crop estimates ahead of the September 12 Crop Production Report. The firm reportedly estimates the corn crop at 10.310 billion bu. with a yield of 119.8 bu. per acre. USDA currently pegs the corn crop at 10.778 billion bushels.

Informa reportedly pegs the soybean crop at 2.639 billion bu. with a yield of 35.4 bu. per acre. This compares to USDA's current projection of 2.692 billion bushels.

Informa pegs the cotton crop at 17.6 million bales with a yield of 796 bales per acre. This compares to USDA's current projection of 17.651 million bales.
