Informa Lowers Corn Production Estimate

Sources familiar with Informa Economics say the firm has lowered its U.S. corn production estimate from last month and raises its soybean production estimate. Following are details:

Corn: Informa pegs crop at 12.519 billion bu., with a yield of 149.5 bu. per acre. In September, USDA pegged the crop at 12.497 billion bu., with a yield of 148.1 bushels.

Soybeans: Informa pegs crop at 3.087 billion bu., with a yield of 41.8 bu. per acre. In September USDA pegged the crop at 3.085 billion bu., with a yield of 41.8 bushels.

All cotton: Informa pegs crop at 16.358 million lbs., with a yield of 797 lbs. per acre. In September USDA pegged the crop at 16.556 million lbs., with a yield of 807 lbs. per acre.


Juli says: In September, Informa pegged the corn crop at 12.711 billion bu., soybeans at 3.061 billion bu., and cotton at 17.467 million bales.
